This does not include things such as buying all the photographs at $10 a time, Cost of registered post. Hotel expenses and travel expenses to London. Cost of Police Check. Costs of making copies of forms that they require. All this adds up. I estimate true cost is over $1500. Also I might add the process is not finished. Next thing that will need paid is fee to remove conditional status (I-751) $145 ($200 as of April 2004). You would think that after paying them this much money they could process some forms sooner than 6 months.
Another interesting point. Recently I arrived at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. I was going through immigration with my advance parole. Got to the desk where they processed my form. They told me that in future I need to bring a photocopy of the advance parole so that they can keep a copy and give me back the original. He said it is ok this time since he will make a copy. However he then said they can't do it everytime as it costs them "money" to make a copy of it. I just bit my lip because I was so angry. I have paid them $925 for processing a few forms over the course of a year and a half and they have the balls to tell me it costs them money to photocopy a single sheet of paper. I did not thank him. I took my forms and left.
